Peter van der Knaap MBA (left) receives his diploma from prof. Peter Doeve Phd

On Thursday January 29, 2009 the graduation of Peter van der Knaap MBA in Procurement Management was celebrated in grand café Le Byblos in The Hague.
Peter van der Knaap is Manager of Commercial Affairs and Deputy Director DBOB within the Dutch Ministry of Justice. To complete his MBA education he wrote a thesis about Category Management as a procurement instrument within the Dutch Government.
Peter has translated successful Category Management (CM) within big multinational enterprises to CM within the complex organisation and conduct of business of the Dutch governmental organisation.
In 2007 the then appointed ‘CPO Rijk’ (CPO Government) mentioned the implementation of Category Management as 1 of the 3 focal points for the organisation. Peter perfectly aligned his thesis with the organisation strategy. Meanwhile his thesis is widely distributed within the Dutch governmental organisation and is acknowledged reading for employees involved with developing and implementing Category Management.
Peter’s thesis is hugely appreciated within the procurement sector. Since the finalisation he has had several media publications and several speeches to discuss his thesis.
